School Representatives

At Field Road Academy, we believe that every child should have the opportunity to have their voice heard, take on responsibility and make a positive contribution to our school community.

Our School Representatives play an important role in making Field Road Academy a welcoming, inclusive and successful school. They act as positive role models for their peers, share children's ideas and opinions, support school initiatives and help make decisions that improve school life for everyone.

Our representatives are chosen from across the school, giving children from every year group the opportunity to develop their confidence, leadership skills, teamwork and sense of responsibility.

🏆 House Captains – Jerome, Pattison, Telford and Cadbury

Our House Captains are Year 6 pupil leaders who represent their House and help to promote a positive team spirit across the school.

Their responsibilities include:

• Supporting and encouraging children within their House.
• Promoting positive behaviour, teamwork and good sportsmanship.
• Helping to organise and support House events and competitions.
• Celebrating the achievements of children in their House.
• Acting as positive role models for younger pupils.
• Sharing ideas and suggestions from their House with staff.

⭐ Vice House Captains – Jerome, Pattison, Telford and Cadbury

Vice House Captains are Year 5 pupil leaders who work alongside our House Captains to support their House and develop their leadership skills in preparation for future House Captain opportunities.

Their responsibilities include:

• Supporting the House Captain with House activities and events.
• Encouraging teamwork and participation.
• Supporting younger pupils within their House.
• Promoting positive behaviour and school values.
• Helping to celebrate House achievements.
• Acting as positive role models throughout the school.

🔢 Maths Ambassadors 

Our Maths Ambassadors help to promote a love of mathematics across Field Road Academy. They encourage children to see maths as an exciting, valuable and enjoyable subject.

Their responsibilities include:

• Promoting positive attitudes towards mathematics.
• Awarding and celebrating success in whole school initiatives, such as Badge Club.
• Supporting maths activities and events across the school.
• Encouraging younger children to develop their mathematical thinking.
• Working with staff to support maths-related initiatives.

📚 Reading Ambassadors 

Our Reading Ambassadors are passionate about books and help to inspire a love of reading across the school.

Their responsibilities include:

• Encouraging children to read regularly and widely.
• Awarding and celebrating success in whole school initiatives, such as Starbooks.
• Recommending books and sharing their favourite authors and stories.
• Helping to promote our school library.
• Encouraging younger pupils to enjoy reading.

🔬 Science Ambassadors

Our Science Ambassadors help to develop curiosity and enthusiasm for science across the school. They encourage children to ask questions, investigate the world around them and develop a love of discovery.

Their responsibilities include:

• Promoting an interest in science.
• Supporting science activities, investigations and events.
• Sharing ideas and interesting scientific facts with their class.
• Encouraging children to ask questions and be curious.
• Helping to celebrate science achievements.
• Working with staff to promote science across the school.

📖 Librarians 

Our pupil librarians play an important role in helping to make our library a welcoming and well-organised space for everyone.

Their responsibilities include:

• Helping to keep the library tidy and organised.
• Supporting staff with allocating and organising library books during library time.
• Helping children to choose appropriate and enjoyable books.
• Supporting younger pupils in using the library.
• Helping to promote reading across the school.
• Completing regular library organisation and tidying tasks.

🗣️ School Council Representatives

Our School Council Representatives ensure that pupils across Field Road Academy have a voice in important decisions that affect school life.

Their responsibilities include:

• Listening to the ideas, opinions and suggestions of their classmates.
• Sharing their class's views during School Council meetings.
• Feeding back information from School Council meetings to their class.
• Working with staff and other pupils to help improve the school.
• Taking part in discussions and projects that benefit the school community.
• Helping to ensure that every child's voice is heard.

🌱 Eco Team Representatives 

Our Eco Team Representatives help Field Road Academy to become a cleaner, greener and more environmentally friendly school.

Their responsibilities include:

• Encouraging everyone to look after our school environment.
• Taking part in regular litter-picking activities on the playground.
• Helping to make sure the school grounds remain tidy and litter-free.
• Promoting recycling and responsible use of resources.
• Encouraging pupils to think about how their actions can help the environment.
• Supporting environmental projects and initiatives across the school.

🌟 Developing Future Leaders

Assigning School Representatives gives children at Field Road Academy valuable opportunities to develop confidence, communication, teamwork, independence and leadership skills.

Most importantly, our representatives help ensure that pupil voice is at the heart of our school. We are incredibly proud of the children who volunteer for these important roles and regularly celebrate the positive difference they make within our school community.
